I realized yesterday that in my practice, I haven't been relaxing. Yes, I've heard the advice in the course that you should relax as much as possible, and I even thought I was taking that advice, but it turns out I wasn't. When I realized this, I decided to just look. No breathing or de-focusing, just relaxing. I found that if I just looked at a specific point, usually the corner of a doorframe or a thermostat box, the edges of things would start "glowing." I made sure that my eyes were as relaxed as possible at all times, even in focusing on a certain point.

After a few minutes of doing this, I started seeing circular "waves" or thick circles expanding outward. I've seen this before, probably about 8 years ago during a previous attempt to see auras and energy. My hypothesis is that it's part of my own aura, but it could be something else entirely. Has anyone else seen this before, and if so, can you tell me what it is?

Hi again, Rirvinmoore!

For me, when I'm seeing through my own aura, it's not just around an object. It's as if I'm looking through a sheer curtain and the entire field of vision is impacted.

It sounds as if you may be picking up the energetic field surrounding what you are looking at - "More of that please!"

Now that you mention it, that makes sense. After all, I'd assume you're looking out from behind your own aura at all times. Do correct me if I'm wrong on that. And the fact that the entire picture gets this sort of colored wash from time to time supports that.

Wendy

The thing is, when I see the waves, they seem to be coming from far outside my field of view and I can't figure out what the source is. In my experience they seem to come from high above and far below. I just checked last night to confirm this. The waves are always the last thing I see:

glowing edges of objects->glowing everything->waves

That's just for your information. I'll keep practicing but let me know if you have any further input on this.
