It's quite interesting you give it the photofocus gaze the blue vertical (represents the crease of the book) line creates the blip borders. The horizontal line gives you your mid point for the gaze. The 7 in the middle overlaps to a single digit and the rest of the numbers in the "blip area" form an X.

I'm interested to know how many people find this helpful in getting into photofocus.

You won't get an X effect like that you photofocus on the text of a printed page or computer screen with text in two columns. The text is parallel to begin and will remain parallel when you are looking at a page properly.

Think railway tracks. They appear to converge because of the angle you are looking at them.
