It's a very interesting discussion, here's a different slant by Rex Sikes on Directed Questions. Rex doesn't believe affirmations are as powerful as purposeful questions, because your mind likes puzzles, and when you pose your mind a question it will go on the hunt for the reasons or answers. For instance ask "Why is today going to be a good day?" in the morning, and your mind will search for all the reasons and will help you create a good day!
