The emptiness, as far as I know, is going into Dantien/hara. Feel nothing=feel everything.
It belongs to Taoist philosophy that even an empty cup has its usefulness becuase without the empty space, it would not be able to hold liquid.
Similarly dantien is a place were your energy goes and so can you.
I could be wrong, if so, someone correct me.
