As Paul says on page 6 in the Third Edition of the PhotoReading book, "...humans posses a preconscious processor of the mind that can absorb visual information without involving the conscious mind."

Test yourself. That way you won't be able to say things like, "Well, he has a special gift," or, "Just because she can do it, doesn't mean I can do it," or some other equally debilitating comment.
