It's not the methods by themselves. It's the action of DOING them.

The problem people who are depressed have is they know what to do but lack the motivation to do it. It is much easier to lay in bed, watch tv, eat and do things that get your mind off the situation but no REAL lasting change occurs.

Sometimes it has to get really bad before they get up and fight the feelings of resistance and pessimism. I know first hand.

All of the "techniques" that SFQ people have suggested here and many many other things will work if anxious and depressed people would keep trying and stick to it.


A shift needs to happen in ones mind, a belief that it IS possible to overcome and change for the better.

The world is an illusion and our thoughts are illusions based on illusions. If this is the case we might as well PICK our reality.
