The "every other place" are referring to the Year element. In the manual Marie is referring to the Fortune Element. THey are two different things. So: 1958 (Feb 18 '58 - Feb 7 '59) is a Dog with a year element of Earth, and a fortune element of Wood. 1955 (Jan 24 '55 - Feb 11 ' 56) Is a Sheep with a wood year element, and a metal fortune element.
